{"id":15910,"date":"2010-01-11T17:42:45","date_gmt":"2010-01-12T01:42:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lukeford.net\/blog\/?p=15910"},"modified":"2010-01-11T18:15:34","modified_gmt":"2010-01-12T02:15:34","slug":"rob-eshman-is-a-differentiated-man","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lukeford.net\/blog\/?p=15910","title":{"rendered":"Rob Eshman Is A Differentiated Man"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Motzi Shabbos, in a confused state of mind &#8212; my heart was breaking over being stood up by a spunky sheila and my spirit was soaring over the Dallas Cowboys first playoff victory since January 1997 &#8212; I wrongly accused <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.jewishjournal.com\/community_briefs\/article\/briefs_rabbi_weil_condemns_spinka_participants_prime_grill_closure_rumors\/\">Amy Klein and the Jewish Journal of shoddy reporting on Steven Weil&#8217;s Spinka speech in January of 2008<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I now see that I was wrong. Amy&#8217;s report was fine. It is I who was in error.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been too hasty and too harsh too often and too much towards Amy and the Jewish Journal.<\/p>\n<p>Worst of all, I was entirely unChristian. Oy, what would my daddy say?<\/p>\n<p><A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.lukeford.net\/profiles\/profiles\/amy_klein.htm\">Instead of berating Amy from afar, why did I not chase Amy to the hovel motzi Shabbos, clasp her to my bosom, and show her the love of Christ<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p>Most people react to my going off unhinged by going off unhinged themselves. Most people won&#8217;t react to me because they are too afraid, but they&#8217;ll start ranting to others about how unfairly they were treated on my blog.<\/p>\n<p><A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.lukeford.net\/profiles\/profiles\/rob_eshman.htm\">Jewish Journal Editor Rob Eshman<\/a> has never lost his temper with me. He just <A HREF=\"https:\/\/lukeford.net\/blog\/?p=15908\">politely points out where I went off the rails<\/a> &#8212; when he has time in his busy schedule &#8212; and as meek as a lamb, I accept his reproof and return to my daily struggle to heal the world (and myself).<\/p>\n<p>Rob Eshman is a differentiated man. He has a strong sense of self and when other go off and in some deranged manner accuse him and his publication of shoddy work, he doesn&#8217;t let it get to him. Rob Eshman knows who he is. If he feels anxiety in a conflict, he self-soothes.
