Before Purim I described specific procedures for inspecting leaf vegetables and floreted vegetables. The other items that, based on their infestation levels, require inspection, are strawberries, raspberries, asparagus, and celery. The common-sense methods are described in detail on that same website<\/a> and so I won’t reproduce them here.I know that it’s tempting to dismiss the bugs issue as being something that only other kinds of Orthodox Jews worry about (fill in whatever term you’d like). Which is why I reiterate that this is as bonafide a kashrut issue as any other, and that being conscientious about this area of kashrut, is just as important as being conscientious about any other. When it comes to halachik commitment, there is only one kind of Orthodox Jew. (As will one day also be the case for embracing inter-denominatonal cooperation, and gender inclusiveness in shul and home.)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
