At San Jos\u00e9 State University in Silicon Valley, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, one English teacher lives out of her car, grading papers after dark by headlamp and keeping things neat so as to \u201cavoid suspicion.\u201d Another adjunct in an unidentified \u201clarge US city,\u201d reports The Guardian, turned to sex work rather than lose her apartment.<\/p>\n

* One Princeton undergraduate in 1942 claimed that \u201cthe Negroes are not improved by their admission to a group with relatively high standards, but the group is corrupted to the lower level of the new members.\u201d An alumnus in 1969 said, \u201cLet\u2019s be frank.
