The company said Wednesday that after<br \/>\ntalks with academics and civil groups over the past three months, it<br \/>\ndetermined white nationalism and separatism can\u2019t be separated from<br \/>\nwhite supremacy and other hate groups.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe didn\u2019t originally apply the same rationale to expressions of white<br \/>\nnationalism and separatism because we were thinking about broader<br \/>\nconcepts of nationalism and separatism\u2014things like American pride and<br \/>\nBasque separatism, which are an important part of people\u2019s identity,\u201d<br \/>\nthe company said on its website. \u201cIt\u2019s clear that these concepts are<br \/>\ndeeply linked to organized hate groups and have no place on our<br \/>\nservices.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Facebook said Wednesday it needs to improve on finding and removing<br \/>\nhate from its platforms.
