The Oval Office tape of Richard Nixon and Pat Moynihan posted on YouTube and recently noted <\/a> by Steve Sailer <\/a> has both men saying that they know the truth about IQ and race\u2013but can never admit it. And look what happened as a result.<\/em> VDARE.com\u2019s position: the truth shall set us free.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/a><\/span>Moynihan had sent Nixon Richard Herrnstein\u2019s<\/a> September 1971 Atlantic <\/em>article \u201cI.Q.<\/a>\u201d[PDF<\/a>, 18 pp.]. Nixon told Moynihan: \u201cNobody on my staff even knows I read the goddamn thing,\u201d to which Moynihan replies \u201cGood!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/a><\/span>Nixon went on, regarding \u201dthis Herrnstein stuff\u201d:<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/a><\/span>
\nNixon: \u201c<\/em>Nobody must know we\u2019re thinking about it, and if we do find out it\u2019s correct, we must never tell anybody<\/em>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/a><\/span>Moynihan:<\/em> \u201cI\u2019m afraid that\u2019s the case.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/a><\/span>Nixon:<\/em> \u201cI\u2019ve reluctantly concluded, based at least on the evidence presently before me \u2013and I don\u2019t base it on any scientific evidence\u2014that what Herrnstein says, and what was said earlier by [Arthur] Jensen, and so forth, is very close to the truth.\u201d[MP3<\/a>]

<\/a><\/span>What both Herrnstein and Jensen<\/a> were saying\u2014and being pilloried<\/a> for\u2014was that you can\u2019t close an IQ gap<\/a> that\u2019s hereditary by Head Start<\/a> and free school breakfast<\/a> s. Jensen\u2019s famous<\/a> 1969 Harvard Educational Review<\/em> article was called How Much Can We Boost IQ and Scholastic Achievement? <\/em>[PDF<\/a>]<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/a><\/span>The answer, then and since is \u201cNot much.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
