UNKNOWN: Mr. President-elect, I wanted to ask you, there was a conference this past weekend in Washington of people who pledged their allegiance to Nazism.<\/p>\n

TRUMP: Boy, you are really into this stuff, huh?<\/p>\n

PRIEBUS: I think we answered that one right off the bat.<\/p>\n

UNKNOWN: Are you going to condemn them?<\/p>\n

TRUMP: Of course I did, of course I did.<\/p>\n

PRIEBUS: He already did.<\/p>\n

UNKNOWN: Are you going to do it right now?<\/p>\n

TRUMP: Oh, I see, maybe you weren\u2019t here. Sure. Would you like me to do it here? I\u2019ll do it here. Of course I condemn. I disavow and condemn.<\/p>\n

COMMENTS:<\/p>\n

* My impression is that Trump doesn’t much care and the press is just flinging some mud at Trump to see if it will stick. And between them neither party has actually looked into alt-right. <\/p>\n

As a practical business guy Trump knows quite well that different groups have different tendencies and that some of those groups can be identified by race. But beyond that he also knows that any kind of hint of race this-or-that is deadly, so he does not want to get into it, sees it as a distraction. Which for the press is what it is.<\/p>\n
