* His teams have missed the playoffs 6 consecutive seasons. In 21 seasons as a head coach, he’s made the playoffs 6 times. SIX!<\/p>\n

In those 6 playoff seasons he’s 5-6. He lost the Super Bowl in his first playoff run during the 1999 season. He’s 2-5 in the playoffs since then.<\/p>\n

While with the Rams, he’s had 4 losing seasons. 7-8-1, 7-9, 6-10, 7-9.<\/p>\n

I understand the NFL front offices love him but he could always have a paper pusher job in their offices and not be continually dragging a team down every single season.<\/p>\n

He’s had 3 of his coaches become Head Coaches. Gregg Williams, Jim Schwartz & Mike Munchak. None got a second try as a head coach. They’re a combined 52-84.<\/p>\n

He’s 13th all-time in coaching wins. In the top 30, only 1 coach has a worse winning percentage.<\/p>\n

Please. Someone explain to me why he still has a job.<\/p>\n

* NFL Coaching is a fraternity. Once you’ve made your friends, you will have a job until somebody can’t possibly justify hiring you anymore. Fisher has been able to maintain an existence just on the right side of “justifiable”. And even when he finally dips down below that line, he won’t be out of the NFL. He’ll end up a coordinator or a positions coach for a few seasons, and then get an interim HC job because he’s the only person on staff with HC experience and then we’re right back where we started.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
