(&#8220;Twink&#8221; is gay slang for an attractive young male.) If you think Democrats are pro-gay, you should know what kind of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thegatewaypundit.com\/2016\/08\/must-see-video-nbc-reports-persecution-gay-conservative-lucian-wintrich-liberal-puritans\/\" target=\"_blank\">persecution they inflict on gay Republicans<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Wintrich had his social media accounts <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tech\/2016\/08\/10\/gay-conservative-lucian-wintrich-reinstated-facebook-following-breitbart-article\/\" target=\"blank\">shut down<\/a>, was continuously <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thegatewaypundit.com\/2016\/07\/gay-conservative-threatened-harassed-hosting-gays-trump-rnc-party\/\" target=\"blank\">harassed<\/a>, and then <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thegatewaypundit.com\/2016\/08\/gay-conservative-fired-participates-gays-trump-rnc-event\/\" target=\"blank\">ultimately fired<\/a> from his job at one of New York\u2019s largest advertising agencies.<\/p>\n<p>In a stunning exception to its normal partisan cheerleading for Democrats, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/video\/gay-conservative-behind-twinks4trump-takes-on-liberal-puritans-755328579598\" target=\"_blank\">NBC News did a surprisingly fair story<\/a> about Wintrich:<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"http:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/widget\/video-embed\/755328579598\" width=\"448\" height=\"252\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.buzzfeed.com\/rosiegray\/at-gays-for-trump-party-the-former-fringe-celebrates-trumps\" target=\"_blank\">LGBT for Trump event Milo Yiannopoulos hosted<\/a> during the Republican National Convention, I briefly met Wintrich. Liberals have a habit of assuming all gay people are Democrats, the same way they assume all women, all black people, all Hispanics and all union members are Democrats. However, the Republicans are a party of ideas, and there is nothing about the ideas of economic freedom, national security and social conservatism that puts them off-limits to any group. The common liberal belief that all gay people are necessarily &#8220;oppressed&#8221; by social conservatism, for example, ignores the kind of a live-and-let&#8211;live attitude that most conservatives have toward what used to be euphemistically called &#8220;alternative lifestyles.&#8221; The Bible-believing Southern Baptist in Oklahoma isn&#8217;t interested in using federal authority to &#8220;impose his morals&#8221; on gay people in New York or San Francisco, but he resents very much the way liberals want to use federal authority to impose <em>their<\/em> morals on his community in suburban Tulsa. This is how <a href=\"http:\/\/www.weeklystandard.com\/bake-me-a-cakeor-else\/article\/935066\" target=\"_blank\">the &#8220;Bake Me a Cake&#8221; issue<\/a> arises, with militant gay activists as cultural bullies, and this in turn involves the <a href=\"http:\/\/spectator.org\/62156_warriors-against-human-nature\/\" target=\"_blank\">Compulsory Approval Doctrine<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">As a result of Supreme Court decisions . . . homosexuality has now gained the status of a constitutional right, which means that disapproval of [homosexual behavior] is effectively prohibited. This new dispensation, which we might call the Compulsory Approval Doctrine, has the consequence of abolishing religious liberty. \u201cMarriage equality\u201d requires universal recognition of same-sex unions. Woe be unto the baker who, for religious reasons, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/news\/national\/oregon-bakery-pay-gay-couple-refused-cake-article-1.2103577\" target=\"blank\">refuses to provide a cake<\/a> or the <a href=\"http:\/\/hotair.com\/archives\/2015\/02\/24\/christian-florist-why-i-cant-agree-to-provide-service-to-gay-weddings\/\" target=\"blank\">florist who refuses to provide flowers<\/a> for a gay wedding.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Stacy McCain writes: Lucian Wintrich is an artist in New York who lost his job because of his &#8220;Twinks for Trump&#8221; campaign.
