{"id":10441,"date":"2009-09-05T20:32:14","date_gmt":"2009-09-06T04:32:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lukeford.net\/blog\/?p=10441"},"modified":"2009-09-05T20:32:14","modified_gmt":"2009-09-06T04:32:14","slug":"jane-fonda-danny-glover-support-destruction-of-israel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lukeford.net\/blog\/?p=10441","title":{"rendered":"Jane Fonda, Danny Glover Support Destruction Of Israel?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.upi.com\/Entertainment_News\/2009\/09\/05\/Rabbi-slams-celebs-for-festival-boycott\/UPI-43241252174514\/\">LOS ANGELES, Sept. 5 (UPI)<\/a> &#8212; A Los Angeles rabbi says movie stars <a class=\"tpstyle\" alt=\"Topic: Jane_Fonda\" title=\"Topic: Jane_Fonda\" href=\"http:\/\/www.upi.com\/topic\/Jane_Fonda\/\">Jane Fonda<\/a> and <a class=\"tpstyle\" alt=\"Topic: Danny_Glover\" title=\"Topic: Danny_Glover\" href=\"http:\/\/www.upi.com\/topic\/Danny_Glover\/\">Danny Glover<\/a> support the &quot;destruction of Israel&quot; if they boycott the Toronto International Film Festival.<\/p>\n<p>TMZ.com reported Friday that Rabbi <a class=\"tpstyle\" alt=\"Topic: Marvin_Hier\" title=\"Topic: Marvin_Hier\" href=\"http:\/\/www.upi.com\/topic\/Marvin_Hier\/\">Marvin Hier<\/a> of the Simon Wiesenthal Center opposes a letter sent to festival officials announcing a boycott of the Sept. 10-19 film festival because it will include a program about Tel Aviv&#8217;s 100th anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>The letter states the program honoring the Israeli city &quot;ignores the suffering of thousands of former residents and descendants.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Fonda and Glover, along with playwright <a class=\"tpstyle\" alt=\"Topic: Eve_Ensler\" title=\"Topic: Eve_Ensler\" href=\"http:\/\/www.upi.com\/topic\/Eve_Ensler\/\">Eve Ensler<\/a>, are among those who have signed their names to the boycott letter.<\/p>\n<p>Hier, who has earned two Academy Awards for his documentaries, applauded the festival program and criticized those who oppose it.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Whoever would sign on to a campaign like this would support the complete destruction of Israel,&quot; Hier said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LOS ANGELES, Sept. 5 (UPI) &#8212; A Los Angeles rabbi says movie stars Jane Fonda and Danny Glover support the &quot;destruction of Israel&quot; if they boycott the Toronto International Film Festival.
