* In the past some commenters have suggested that Israel doesn\u2019t need our aid since they have such a prosperous hi-tech economy. Now comes word that not only are they holding onto our aid, they are demanding a sharp increase as well.<\/p>\n

So does Israel really need our aid after all? If it were to be cut off, would it threaten them?<\/p>\n

* Without US fiscal \u201caid,\u201d Israel would have collapsed long ago. They don\u2019t have enough significant exports to create a viable economy. We pay them to serve as a \u201cFort Apache\u201d in the Ottoman Empire, and to keep the most active Israeli\u2019s over there, and not over here, or elsewhere.
\nThink about it. Would you really want a lot of Jews floating about in the world, who love to clan up, with no particular place to go, and nothing to do?
\nIsrael exists for the same reason we still occupy Japan and Germany, and don\u2019t even allow those two to have a significant military force to this day.
\nIt\u2019s America saying for eternity, \u201cI guess we just have to separate you little shits\u2013and keep your hands folded! Russia!! Behave, or you\u2019re next!\u201d
\nWe pay Israel money to exist, to centralize them, thus ironically diluting their political voice, thus avoiding WWIII, and I\u2019m fine with that. It\u2019s not fair, but it beats being nuked, anytime.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
