Yu writes for the Los Angeles Times<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>They don\u2019t actually support Donald Trump or the Republican party.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you think about it, most Trump supporters are working-class white Americans. Those are our constituents,\u201d said Matthew Heimbach, the 25-year-old chairman and co-founder of the group. \u201cThey might not be voting for us yet, but that\u2019s only because they don\u2019t know they have that option.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They want to redraw state boundaries into \u201cregions\u201d that have similar ethnicities, political views and values.<\/p>\n<p>Heimbach believes the country is so polarized that there\u2019s nothing that unites Americans other than using the same currency.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe even speak different languages,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>One example: He\u2019d like one \u201cregion,\u201d from Pennsylvania down to the upper part of the South, running through Appalachia.<\/p>\n<p>The group thinks social issues like gay marriage and abortion should be decided at regional levels like the one he\u2019s proposed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet\u2019s stop fighting a culture war. Just declare both sides victors, and in your respective region, do what you think is best,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>They\u2019re against \u201cforced multiculturalism,\u201d and they want a full stop on immigration into their region.<\/p>\n<p>This includes all immigration \u2014 legal and illegal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cZero net migration, I think would be fair,\u201d Heimbach said.<\/p>\n<p>But they don\u2019t want to stop other regions of the country from welcoming diversity, if that\u2019s what they want.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Annie Z.
