* I\u2019ve read three different articles today on Trump\u2019s speech: one at Bloomberg, another at the Washington Post, and the last at the New York Times. All three articles, though written by three different people, used the word \u201cdark\u201d to describe Trump\u2019s speech. Are these reporters coordinating their message? or did they all choose the same adjective by accident? It\u2019s almost like the press is pushing a consensus opinion.<\/p>\n

* I\u2019ve never heard the phrase \u201cnation of nations\u201d before, to my knowledge. So why do I care if someone denies it? Then again, I don\u2019t remember hearing \u201cAmerican Exceptionalism\u201d until people started mocking neocons with it. I\u2019m not connected to the world in which such phrases are bandied.<\/p>\n

* It\u2019s an oxymoron. The whole point of a nation is that it\u2019s homogeneous. The poisonous concept of a \u201cproposition nation\u201d is gradually seeping into political discourse in Europe now too. Whites get to have the proposition, while non-whites have the nation.<\/p>\n

* Most people reading \u201cUnder his presidency, the American dream would be primarily reserved for Americans.\u201d is going to be thinking \u201cand this is a problem\u2026 how?\u201d<\/p>\n

* There\u2019s a word for a \u201cnation of nations\u201d: an imperium. I know this is what the left wants, and to some measure what the US is, but it\u2019s strange to see the NYT nakedly promote it without even a nod to the consent of the governed.
