RawStory<\/a>: Former NYPD detective Harry Houck on Monday argued that the black Americans were \u201cprone to criminality,\u201d and that activists should stop claiming that blacks were being \u201cpicked on\u201d by law enforcement.<\/p>\n

During a panel discussion on CNN\u2019s New Day about police killing two black men, Philando Castile and Alton Sterling, Houck argued that \u201cracial demagogues\u201d were wrong to complain about \u201cdisparities of blacks and whites in jails.\u201d<\/p>\n

Houck presented a sheet of paper which he said had statistics proving that black people were far more likely to commit violent crimes than whites.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s why there are more blacks in jail than there are whites,\u201d he insisted. \u201cThey turn it around \u2014 the racial demagogues out there \u2014 turn it around that the blacks are being picked on.\u201d<\/p>\n

CNN commentator Mark Lamont Hill pointed out that an investigation in Ferguson, Missouri found that there was \u201cconsiderable evidence of racism\u201d in the police department.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt doesn\u2019t matter!\u201d Houck exclaimed.<\/p>\n

\u201cHarry just went on national TV and said black people are prone to criminality!\u201d Hill observed.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, they are!\u201d Houck replied.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou think black people are prone to criminality?\u201d Hill asked, raising his voice. \u201cYou don\u2019t mean to say that. I\u2019m going to give you a chance to correct [yourself]. You don\u2019t mean that black people are prone to criminality.\u201d<\/p>\n
