Has Monty Python Left The World A Better Place?

Terry Jones says in The Pythons: Autobiography by the Pythons: "…I was talking to a friend who was a teacher in an inner city comprehensive in the ’70s, and they said since Python they’d noticed a change in the adolescent boys. Whereas in the old days the boys would tend to go around bullying, they were actually now going round being silly. He thought that was the effect of Python doing that. For a brief moment of time, it became fashionable to be silly rather than to be threatening and I think that’s probably all Python ever achieved…"
