“It is inconceivable that the ceremony at Auschwitz will feature an address by a parliament president who entertains initiatives meant to efface and obfuscate the Holocaust,” said Shimon Samuels who was referring to a recent speech by Buzek – a former Polish prime minister in which he lauded members of the European Parliament for “recognizing that the mass deportations, murders and enslavements committed … by Stalinism and Nazism fall into the category of war crimes and crimes against humanity.”

•Witness To Truth
For over three decades, Holocaust survivors have volunteered their time at the Simon Wiesenthal Center and the Museum of Tolerance to speak about their painful experiences during World War II. These survivors have been the most effective ambassadors of memory, hope and tolerance for our Museum and their dedication and courage serve as a testament to the vibrancy and tenacity of Jewish life.

In honor of these Holocaust survivor volunteers, the MOT commissioned Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer Marissa Roth to photograph each of these extraordinary people for our permanent exhibit “Witness to Truth.” View this exhibition in the Museum rotunda or online at:
