A.B. emails: The self-appointed Chief Rabbi of Brooklyn Yisroel Belsky is rumored to be a genius. He is far too clever for his own spiritual good. He has revoked retroactively a marriage on the false assumption that the husband had AIDS prior to his getting married. The problem, as explained by Rabbi Shlomo Miller of Toronto with this corrupt logic is : 1) It is medically easy to verify if the husband even has HIV which belsky did not know before issuing his despicable heter. In fact the husband did not have HIV. 2) If the husband has HIV or AIDS and lived with his wife, then clearly she has in all probability become infected as well. If the basis for annuling the marriage is because a person with HIV is not a suitable marriage partner and no one would enter knowingly into a marriage with the husband, then surely the same logic equally now applies to the wife, so why would she need a get as she is not allowed to remarry anyway, let alone an annulment.

The rabbis all over the world were up in arms on this fake psak allowing an eishes ish or married woman to re-marry leading to chayvei kriso (being spiritually cut off for eternity) and mamzerim or barstards being born which also lasts for eternity.

Belsky was also involved in the infamous case of the beating of Rabbi Avrohom Rubin. This man’s cardinal “sin” was to insist his wife leave secular court and go to bais Din in order to satisfy Jewish Law. This man was left for dead by the thugs who beat him, applied electric shocks to his private parts and could not coerce him to give a get. A bais Din must rule that a woman is entitled to a get. These halachas are technical niceties completely irrelevant to Belsky. If a woman goes to secular court, she loses her rights to a trial in Bais Din. Rabbi Rubin went “lifnim meshuras hadin” and offered his wife a get in a completely valid bais din. But this Bais Din was unacceptable to Mrs Rubin because it follows halocho and Mrs Rubin could not care less about halocho. That is why she turned to Izzie.

He has been involved in many corrupt coerced Gittin over the years.In fact the gedolim of Eretz Yisroel have come out against him incluing Rav Elyashiv, Rav Sternbuch and dayan Fisher zt’l. In Ameica, Rav Elya Ber holds he is trash as does Rav Shlomo Miller as did the Kashau Rov zt”l. Reb Shmuel Birnbaum said, while i do not personally know him, if Rav Elya Ber holds he is trash, this must be the case.

Belsky is also affiliated with the OU. When it became known that cows were having their stomachs pierced to help them alleviate their gas problems which causes them lots of pain, the issue aroe that one could not drink milk because the animals were rendered treif. Belsky immediately ruled that there was a leniency that most cows don’t get pierced, reling on a concept known as a “ruba de’leisa kamon”, a majority that one could not see or verify in front of one. The rabbinic world was up in arms. How did Belsky know that there is a “rov” or majority of cows that are not pierced rendering them treif? is he a prophet? of course did not know, he was just guessing.
