Get Loaded For The Holidays

The holidays always present a quandary for me: give friends and family presents they will inevitably return, or use my imagination and get them something they will truly like. The former means buying gifts that are safe but boring, while the latter may start a fun tradition. For example: during the last few years, I’ve listened to relatives complain that a shirt I bought for an uncle or a shoes I ordered for a nephew was too small or uncomfortable – never mind that are of this stuff can be exchanged for the right size! – without ever feeling good that I made the right purchase. It’s like my family unwrapped these presents, and released a collective sigh of indifference. The boxes and cards fall to the side, and I get (at best) the equivalent of a golf clap, an obligatory thanks that means nothing. That’s why I plan to ‘Get Loaded’ this month, instead.

No, I don’t have a flask (though I should) to alleviate the boredom of the holidays. But I have discovered the next best thing to being intoxicated this month: LOADED QUESTIONS (www.loadedquestions.com), the acclaimed board game that tests people on how well they know one another. I got an email about the game, and decided to read some reviews about the product, all of which were extremely positive. There’s a new version of the game, which I just ordered online, and it rocks! Quick, easy and filled with a ton of questions that inspire interesting conversation – LOADED QUESTIONS is my haven from boredom. Period.
